Pixels built now but not months ago — automated detection of unpermitted construction at national scale.
Contact usFind unpermitted building directly — pixels that classify as built today but were not built some months ago — across areas up to 100,000 km².
Unpermitted construction is small, dispersed and constant; by the time a structure is reported it is already built. ETD runs a land-cover classifier on two dates and applies a three-stage filter to suppress false positives — asymmetric strictness (the new date must be strongly artificial while any prior built hint is ignored), spectral confirmation (a real NDBI/brightness rise, not an alignment artefact), and a minimum component size (trims noise while keeping genuine small buildings). Running on enhanced 5 m super-resolution, it resolves individual structures (a 10×10 m house is several pixels) across areas up to 100,000 km², on an annual cycle, with per-site report views over an OSM reference.
